Interior Minister Prince Muhammad bin Naif has asked schools to educate students at the medium and secondary levels on the danger of kidnapping.
The awareness campaign is to include briefings on the role and importance of security personnel. Brig. Khaled bin Awad Al-Fa’ir, director of training and planning at Makkah Police Department, told local media that his department has embarked on developing a joint action plan with the cooperation of a number of security forces and education departments in the region, under the umbrella of the Ministry of Education. The campaign is to be launched next week.
The lectures and courses will clarify the dangers of kidnapping, with instructions of how to avoid falling a victim of such crimes.
The campaign will also include the screening of a documentary, which was filmed in collaboration with the security and patrol forces as well as the Criminal Investigation Department. The training program, explained Al-Fa’ir, will discuss a number of kidnapping cases, which will help raise awareness levels among students.
